Prerequisite Knowledge: Students should be comfortable reading brief passages in Hebrew – translations will be available.
Course Description
As contemporary rabbis, we meet many Jews who have found solace and guidance within Buddhist tradition. The teachings of the Baal Shem Tov (The Besht) offer insights and practices with many parallel ideas. This text-based and experiential Havrutah explores the Besht’s guidance for how we, as Jews, can encounter and engage with our suffering from within our own tradition.
