Independent Study I

Students can complete a maximum of 2 independent study courses for a total of 2 elective credits

About This Course

This course earns 1 elective credit

The Independent Study Elective is for students who want to take a course or pursue a learning opportunity that is not currently offered through PRS, and that will meaningfully add to their seminary education.

PRS does not award credit for courses or learning completed prior to admission.

Process

1. Fill out the first brit limmud with the details about the course or program you’d like to take
2. Email this brit limmud to Rabbi Sandy Zisser to receive approval. Rabbi Sandy will sign the brit limmud and send it back to you.
3. Upload this brit limmud into the first quiz verification
4. Take your course or program.
5. Submit documentation showing that you completed the work:
   • Upload a certificate of completion, or
   • If no certificate is available, ask the instructor to complete and sign the second brit limmud and upload the signed form.

Credit will be awarded after both verification quizzes have been completed.

To receive approval, download the Brit Limmud form below, fill it out, and do the following:

1. Email the form to Rabbi Sandy (szisser@jewishpluralism.org) and ask him to sign the form
2. Have Rabbi Sandy email the signed form back to you
3. Upload the brit limmud to the first quiz of this course

If your course or program does have a certificate of completion submit that form to the second quiz for this course.

If your course or program does not have a certificate of completion, do the following:

1. Ask the educator you learned with fill out and sign the Brit Limmud form below
2. Upload the brit limmud to the second quiz of this course
