The Mandated Reporter certificate is designed to help early childhood and school-age professionals (which includes rabbis working with children) to understand their responsibilities as mandated reporters. Mandated Reporters are individuals who must report any suspicion of child maltreatment.
Participants in Mandated Reporter training will learn about reporting requirements, signs and symptoms of various types of maltreatment, as well as the potential long-term impacts of specific types of abuse or neglect.
Mandated Reporter training is not provided by Pluralistic Rabbinical Seminary directly. We encourage students to do the training on their state’s website. After submitting a copy of your certificate, you will receive a half credit toward your electives.
We recognize that this training is based on US state law. There may be non-US equivalents. Please reach out to us to affirm what Mandated Reporter-style training is required (and available) in your area.
This course is provided by a third party and is unaffiliated with Pluralistic Rabbinical Seminary. There should be no cost associated with taking a state sponsored course. We have listed courses we believe to be free of cost. If your state’s website is not cost-free, please do not take the training. Report it to us immediately and we will search out a free option for you.
Pluralistic Rabbinical Seminary does not receive any kind of fees by recommending this course to students.

This will be different for each state but as an aside finding the Virginia link was a bit difficult.
