This course earns 1 elective credit
This practicum gives you the opportunity to receive credit for leading Shabbat services while enrolled at PRS.
To earn 1 elective credit, you must lead six Shabbat services.
Requirements
To receive credit, complete all of the following:
1. Lead six Shabbat services while enrolled at PRS
The services must be led during your time as a PRS student. Credit will not be awarded for services led before enrollment at PRS.
Any siddur may be used, provided the service is primarily in Hebrew and is not an alternative service format.
2. Obtain written verification from a supervising rabbi or community leader
Ask your supervising rabbi or community leader to complete the brit limmud verifying your service leadership.
The brit limmud includes:
- The supervising rabbi or leader’s name
- The congregation or chavurah’s name
- The type of service led (Erev Shabbat, Shabbat Morning, etc.)
- The dates of the services
